Greenland Paddles
Unlike traditional Euro style paddles,
Greenland paddles are easy and gentle on the body. These paddles,
based on Inuit designs developed over thousands of years are an
efficient and comfortable way to paddle through your favorite waters
or on multi day excursions. |
|
The long slender blades of Greenland
paddles provide as much, or more actual blade surface than Euro
styles, especially at times when you need it most when bracing,
sweeping or rolling.
The natural materials used in their
construction lend a certain amount of natural flexibility to the
paddle that make it gentle on your arms and shoulders.

The unfeathered nature of the paddle also helps prevent the tendonitis
that may come from extended use of a feathered paddle. Furthermore,
less wind resistance and light weight means more endurance on those
long days on the water.
Constructed from a variety of woods
including western red cedar, basswood, cherry and ash, these
paddles are as beautiful to look at as they are to use.
Laminating different woods together gives strength, beauty and
durability.

Optional finishes can further enhance
their durability by including several coats of clear epoxy resin
to stiffen and strengthen the entire paddle or just the blade
tips.
A final finish of UV resistant varnish
(epoxy resin requires protection from the suns UV rays) gives
the paddles their final finish and durability. |
